“Young Researchers/Junior Academics Empowerment Program 2019”

“YREP 2019-20”

Young Researchers/Junior Academics Empowerment Program for current academic year (YREP 2019-20) is going to be held at Gothenburg this year for Iranian researchers or junior Iranian academic staffs. This program aims to improve and upgrade graduate motivated students researchers with international successful Human Ecology Projects such as waste Management, water, energy and environmental issues which are considered as state of the art of European technologies and environmental managements and promote their international experience and cultural knowledge.

WHO CAN APPLY?

1. Applications are open to graduate students, young researchers and junior academic staffs who have Iranian nationality (for first program) and may working and studying everywhere in the world.
2. Bachelor students must have completed at least three academic years at the start of the application time but there is no guaranty for them since first group are in priority.

 

Applicant General Profile Before Apply:

 

• Age Range: 20-45
• 54% Female, 46% Male
• Academic background or professional experience on water engineering, waste management, environmental chemistry, biological studies, environmental study, health, safety, energy, human ecology, environmental law, management, and related fields may make the applicant in priority
• Work Experience and Research Papers are advantages

 

LANGUAGE

All the core courses are taught in English.

Additionally, optional Swedish and Persian language courses may be offered to those who want to maximize their experience and learn more about a new language and culture.

 

WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM START AND HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE?

The program is two weeks long. Preliminary scheduled plan is for November 24 to December 7, 2019.

 

LOCATION

The program will be held at Ekocentrum located in Gothenburg - Sweden

 

WHAT IS THE COST OF THE PROGRAM?

Total Fees: 5.500€

This includes:

• Tuition Fees
• Language courses
• Full accommodation for the period of course
• Turn ticket and air fare from nearest international airport of home country
• Airport transfer 
• Official meals
• Training material and packages
• Public transport card
• Scientific Excursions
• Extracurricular activities
• Company and ecological sites visits
• Possibility of exhibition booth (sector) for companies/organizations that have more than one approved applicant to show their own recent products, outcomes, outstanding rewards, advertisements, etc. at the International Exhibition of EcoCentrum which is established on June 2005. They can have pavilion for negotiation to develope iranian international relations with suppliers, vendors, etc. In this case companies/organizations won't charge any more. 

 

FINANCIAL AID

Candidates are eligible to apply for a scholarship to fund their program as soon as they have submitted their completed admissions form. Scholarship applications must always be sent with application simultaneously.

Awards are based on financial need or academic excellence and evidence that the candidate is highly motivated to attend the program.

A scholarship covers part of the tuition fees, either may accommodation, transportation and some living expenses.

There limited three types of scholarship for applicants who are going to apply for that and decision making for awarding the scholarship will be done by international scientific advisory. Following scholarships are available for Iranian motivated talent and experienced applicants:

• 30% Partial scholarship (cover international airfare)
• 30% Partial scholarship (cover accommodation)
• 50% Partial scholarship (Wave 2500 € of fee)

 

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

In order to begin your application process you must complete and submit the following documents (all in individual-integrated document in pdf format) through E-mail and submit them in original printed signed format to MERC. All documents would be submitted in English except national ID card copy)

 

• One-page update brief CV(must be includes all contact addresses and phone numbers of institute and personal cell phone)
• Motivation letter (only one-page with 150 to 300 world)
• Filled application form(which you can find in MERC website:

• One or two (preferably) recommendation letter from direct supervisor and advisor)
• National ID card photo (in Persian)
• Valid passport photo
• Current occupation/ student certificate (English)
• Basefee of 3000 Euro (Which is full refundable in case of visa/scholarship-award rejection if applicant does not want to try more)

 

Once we receive all documents through E-mail, we will contact you for interview in case of requirement.

 

Applications must be submitted before October 20th 2019. Early applications are recommended given the limited number of places in the program.
